West Hill fun day
On August 5th we had great fun together. West Hill Community Centre and St Mark's
put on a fun day for youngsters. It rained and rained but we had a great time.
The church hall was packed with kids from 10am till 3pm. Big cardboard box games
making houses and robot suits, pebble ainting, face painting, big floor games.
Lunch was followed by team games and even tug of war when the rain held off
for a few minutes. Parents and granparents stayed all day joining in the fun
and drinking tea and coffee.

Friday 18th September 7pm
Traditional Harvest Service - all traditional produce (marrows, cabbages,
fruit etc will be given away wherever possible)
At traditional services, it is usual for folk to donate produce in two ways
Before the day - if you want to do this, please ring the office
(01262 424906) who will make suggestions - we want to avoid having two dozen
huge marrows and only one tomato! Please bring your stuff to St Mark's by
Wednesday 16th September, 5pm so we can prepare St Magnus.
Bringing stuff on the day and presenting it during the service
Parking: We may park thoughfully in Bessingby Main Street, but not down Church Lane.
As much as possible, the produce will be sold and all of the money will be given to Westhill
Community Centre for their children's and youth work.

This will be a family harvest thanksgiving - kid friendly and great fun.
For this one, please bring non perishable foods, such as packets of pasta, rice, tins.
These will be given to local projects with the homeless.
There will be a bread eating contest (volunteers required) and also, for a few more volunteers,
a BBQ tasting and eating session as part of the talk.
We will also give thanks for Grannies and Grandads - so bring yours along and support them.
After the service will be a simple harvest lunch of bangers and mash.
If you want to join in with that, please ring the office with numbers so we can get a good idea of how much to cook!
